F:X Pro Soft GND rectangular filter

The Rollei F:X Pro Soft GND filters are gray graduated filters with a softly tapering course. GND stands for Graduated Neutral Density. With the help of this filter you can easily compensate for differences in brightness in your image.

You can use soft GNDs for these motifs:

• Rugged mountain landscapes
• Forest areas
• Motifs without a clearly defined horizon

Soft GNDs are used (unlike normal ND filters) for subjects where the Brightness conditions have a soft gradient and therefore need a smooth transition for an evenly exposed image. The ideal place to use a Soft GND would be, for example, a mountain landscape where the lighting conditions ensure that the foreground of the image appears darker than the background, but the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. The Soft GND can compensate for such a scenario fantastically..

Our Soft GND 8 has a size of 100 x 150 millimeters (100 mm rectangular filter system) and a density of 0.9 and 3 stops. A stop means that the amount of light hitting the sensor decreases by one f-stop. Depending on how big the differences in brightness are in your subject, we also offer the intensities GND16 (4 stops/1.2) and GND32 (5 stops/1.5) at.
